It was a warm clear day in Malibu when I ventured out with Marlo and her family for the first time. Mom and dad had chosen Malibu State Park, Peter Strauss Ranch to be specific, due to their emotional connection to it. They had first documented their engagement here. So they wanted to show it to their daughter for the first time. She had been up and walking for about a year now, it would be the perfect open space for her to run around in.
. .
We chose the twilight hour for this family shoot. Every tree and blade of grass was sunkissed, giving us a warm frame to play within. Marlo was shy at first but as we got to know each other, you can see she opened up immediately. Her questions were abundant, as were her giggles. And she was always willing to try something new. A new game, a new song, a new pose, you name it, Marlo was ready and excited. It was a fun-filled hour of family portraits in Malibu.
