Meet Tristan and Fam!
I’m in love with every inch of this family and have been blessed with shooting them for three sessions now. This was actually their first portrait session with Tristan but you wouldn’t know it after working with him. He was a champ and so full of energy. He knew exactly how to pose and when to play. And he didn’t tucker out until the very end.
In fact, this family is comprised of nothing but outdoor enthusiasts. They love venturing out, going camping, and hiking together. So it seemed like a no-brainer to have their portrait session take place within a woodsy location in Los Angeles. Griffith Park, we decided, would be the perfect fit. It not only painted our backdrop beautifully but it also gave Tristan a large space to run, play, and express himself. This location allowed his personality to shine.
Tristan is a wise old soul with the body of a toddler. He enjoys long walks in big parks, bright red chucks, playing the comb, and snuggling with his favorite bear (handmade from his grandfather’s favorite old shirt). In fact, there’s never a dull moment when Tristan’s around.
And in case you couldn’t already tell, this family was not only comprised of outdoor enthusiasts but of Star Wars fans as well. HUGE Star Wars fans. So I used that as inspiration. The most obvious of which is attached to the end of this post. Best for last.
By the end of our shoot (naturally) Tristan was pooped. He laid his weary head against the nearest tree, propped his chucks up on a rock, drenched himself in blankie, and took a 20-minute power nap. He earned it so we let him sleep.
