Immediately, Audrey and Tim made it known to us that they wanted a more intimate setting for their vows. They knew they wanted the guest list to be small and they only wanted four within their wedding party. And it was all to occur in their hometown of Santa Barbara. Three months after outlining their ideal wedding, Audrey emailed me, “My fiancé and I love your photography!! We are planning to have a small wedding; an intimate ceremony followed by dinner with our closest family and friends. We couldn’t be happier to have such an intimate wedding and our hope is that the photographs capture that vision.” The energy, excitement, and vision for their wedding day was inspiring. So we put our heads together and crafted out a four-hour wedding-day package for them. We felt it was the perfect fit for this intimate occasion.

Wedding and Reception at The Wine Cask Restaurant:

took place at “Wine Cask,” a  well-known local restaurant and wine bar, with a variety of private rooms. In the bride’s own words,”The ceremony is the most important part of our Wedding. We are both Christian and believe that getting married before God with our loved ones, is truly the most beautiful gift we could ever receive.” So the ceremony was held outside, within the courtyard and a cocktail hour soon followed. At 6:00, the guests were led into the couple’s private banquette room for their sit-down dinner reception.

The colors were ivory with accents of green which filled the room as guests approached. Family and friends were the creators behind the cake and flower arrangements. Other than that, they wanted to keep the setting free and loose. No wedding coordinator, no dress code, no traditions. However, they did add personal touches with customized dinner menus and potted succulent favors at each table setting.

Portraits at The Santa Barbara Courthouse:

Because the bride and Groom decided on viewing each other before the ceremony, we chose the old Santa Barbara courthouse as the backdrop to their portraits. We started on the front steps of the courthouse and then utilized a number of its old nooks and antique archways. Wine Cask was just around the corner, making it an easy get-away for portraits.

These two met in Venice Beach and four years later, Tim proposed in Pismo Beach. They lived for some time in Santa Barbara which is why they chose that location for the ceremony. We wish these two California locals much love and success in their future endeavors. And a warm “Mahalo” as they embark on their honeymoon in Kauai.
